Our
Story

As a lifelong campers, we have travelled extensively around the world in varying modes of transport and comfort, from family camping trips to backpacking in South America.  In my 16 year career as an Officer in the Royal Air Force Regiment, adventure became an everyday part of my life.  Whether it be living out of a Land Rover on deployment in Iraq and Afghanistan, or leading Snowboard expeditions to the Alps.  All of which required meticulous planning and organisation to ensure you have the right equipment when you need it.  Finding solutions for vital storage needs and improving comfort when off-grid. On retiring from military life I retrained, specialising in electrics and carpentry, building a career in property development in the UK and Canada, renovating a number of properties from the ground up.  However, my wife and I yearned to spend more time travelling with our young children, and this wanderlust started our journey into full-time vanlife with a 7-year-old and a 3-year-old.  You have to be very organised when living in a small space full time with young children!  This spurred my love of living in tiny homes, being inventive and creating small homes on wheels with multi-purpose functionality in mind.   After 12 months and 20,000 miles travelling from west to east across Canada and America, we returned to the UK, and I was eager to begin the natural progression into creating beautiful campervans.  Putting into practise what I had learned on the road and using my property developing skillset to create bespoke handcrafted campervans that stand out from the crowd.  Homesmith Campers was born and I have never looked back.
